Samsung’s Galaxy S-series is back again, making waves with powerful performance and premium features. For this hardware comparison, we have the Samsung Galaxy S25+ its predecessor from last year.

The most significant change with the S25+ is the addition of a Snapdragon 8 Elite under the hood. It’s safe to say that Samsung is putting its foot down to stay ahead of the competition.
Let’s check what other changes have been made compared to last year. We’ll be leaving a specs table below to help with a direct comparison.

Samsung Galaxy S25+ Advantages
- Better chipset
- Qi2 wireless charging support
- Costs less than predecessor
Design
Compared to the S24+, not much seems to have changed in terms of design language. Both devices are still fairly light and are easy to hold.
However, as per our hands-on with the device, there are improvements albeit barely noticeable. The S25+ is ever so slightly thinner and weighs 6 less grams.
Display
Both devices sport the same 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display panels with QHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate capping at 120Hz. Plus, both screens also have 2600 nits of peak brightness as well.
Chipset
All models in the Galaxy S25 Series are powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship ship with a few tweaks. Under the hood, these are powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, offering optimizations for Galaxy AI.
This chip also comes with a slight performance boost when compared to the standard version. As for the Galaxy S24+, it has a Samsung Exynos 2400 chipset under the hood.
As mentioned in our hands-on, the S25+ can handle its AI-powered features pretty well. While we couldn’t really run benchmarks at the time, the leap in performance should be more than substantial.
Users should expect that the S25+ is able to handle pretty much any task thrown at it.
Memory and Storage
Both share the same configurations, starting with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Cameras
On paper, the cameras from the S24+ have been retained. Both devices have a 50-megapixel main with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 10-megapixel telephoto, and a 12-megapixel ultra wide. The S25+ is also equipped with the same 12-megapixel selfie shooter.
However, users can expect incremental improvements for the S25+ because of its updated imaging system.
Battery and Charging
Both devices pack a 4900mAh battery with 45W of wired charging via USB Type-C. Both also support 15W of wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The changes are with wireless charging, as the S25+ supports Qi2 technology while the S24+ supports Qi.
In other words, the S25+ is capable of charging a bit faster wirelessly because of the magnetic rings integrated in Qi2 technology.
Connectivity and Other Features
Connectivity-wise, the S25+ supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and GPS. The S24+ has almost the same inclusions, except for having lower Wi-Fi (6E) and Bluetooth (5.3) versions.
Both devices will ship with the One UI skin based on Android 15 out of the box. For features, it’s needless to say that the S24+ comes with Galaxy AI in its infancy stages.
The S25+ will have more to offer like audio eraser, the Now Bar, etc. because its a fine tuned (and still developing) device with its own custom chipset.
Price
Oddly enough, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ actually costs a tiny bit less. This device retails for PHP 67,990 with 256GB of available storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ is priced at PHP 68,990 with the same configurations. Over a year, Samsung has managed to give us an insane performance leap and incremental upgrades in connectivity and battery.
As such, the price slash comes as a pleasant surprise. We believe the chipset upgrade is huge, as it affects power consumption, the imaging system, etc.
Either way, Samsung fans are in for a treat this year with the Galaxy S25 Series.
