This is an interesting comparison as both phones have plenty of advantages over the other. Although they’re both flagship devices, they’re designed differently to cater to different users.
When it comes to the display, the Note10+ has the advantage in terms of screen size, resolution, and screen-to-body ratio. If you want to have the most screen as possible, this is the one to get. The ROG Phone 2, on the other hand, has a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth animations. If you’re a mobile gamer, you’ll enjoy this.
For the cameras, the Note10+ is the most versatile by offering four rear cameras which include an ultra-wide, telephoto, and DepthVision for bokeh effects. The ROG Phone 2, on the other hand, uses a dual-rear camera setup with a higher resolution primary camera and an ultra-wide. For selfies, the gaming phone has the upper hand in terms of resolution. If you need a versatile shooter, definitely go with the Note10+. As for the quality, we’ll know once we have both units for review.
As for the other features, the Note10+ boasts an S-Pen for productivity purposes, and IP68 dust and water-resistance. The ROG Phone 2, on the other hand, has three USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm audio port, AirTriger shoulder buttons, and support for exclusive gaming accessories. It shouldn’t be a big deal for some as one is for productivity while the other is for mobile gaming.
Powering the two devices are the latest and most powerful chipsets from Qualcomm and Samsung. The Note10+ uses both depending on the region, while the ROG Phone 2 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+. We’re yet to benchmark both devices so stay tuned for that. Both have the same RAM capacity at 12GB. Storage-wise, the Note10+ offers a 256GB and 512GB model with microSD card support, while the ROG Phone 2 has the non-expandable 512GB.
For the battery, ROG Phone 2 wins in capacity with its 6,000mAh power pack. The Note10+, on the other hand, has a 4,300mAh battery but with faster charging and wireless charging support. As for the battery life, we’ll know once we have both units for review.
Which one is for you? If you’re into productivity and photography, better get the Note10+. But if you’re a hardcore mobile gamer, you can’t go wrong with the ROG Phone 2.
