Verzio Twinn Duplii: Want 2 SIMs with that?

Listen to article

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main feature of the Verzio Twinn Duplii phone?

Why are dual‑SIM phones popular in the Philippines?
The popularity stems from promotional offers by carriers like Smart, Globe, and Sun that encourage users to carry multiple numbers for cost savings.
Are there phones with more than two SIM slots available locally?
Various vendors in GreenHills and Chinese imports at VirraMall have been selling phones with triple and even quad SIM capabilities.

For those in Cebu City, Twinn is also available for P3,990 at TechTarget in Ayala Mall. It is located opposite SONY and right before you make an exit to the Terraces.

I’m sure you can find one there in Manila, maybe in your friendly Greenhills neigborhood. Please let me know where i can buy an extra battery and charger for the twinn. Thanks in advance!

jopez:

I can’t say if Verzio twinn is better that MyPhone S22, but if you google it, some people are saying that the twinn is better than the S22. In terms of appearance, I think the twinn is more elegant-looking than the S22. By the way, the verzio twinn that i bought comes with a one-year warranty from where i got it.

verzio twinn can take in 2 gig micro sd card. i bought mine from cd-r king at 250 pesos with no adapter. maybe it can take in higher capacity micro sd card, but i haven’t tried it yet.

jopez:

it’s a good and reliable fone if you can live with its not-so-good slider fit and not-so-friendly software (texting lang naman). It’s also quite heavy but its better than carrying two phones. Speaker is very loud and even better than my mp3 player. U can browse or text while the mp3 player is playing. U cannot use bluetooth headset for listening mp3 player, only for calling. U can record ur call conversation with this fone which I find nice. U can also program this fone to turn off and turn ON to save battery…beats my laptop pc! At 3,9990, this thing is SWEET!

And how long is the battery life for each battery included on the package? Let’s say when i’m playing music/fm radio, or texting or having a phone call nonstop

And how loud is the spekerphone?

Is it also able to do multi tasking? like playing the music files while texting/navigating the menu/ fixing our phonebook.

Uhm.. is the price of P9K+ (My memoxpress shop)reasonable for a duplii? if not, where can i buy a reasonably priced handset. I’m really considering to buy that unit.

How about the front camera? is it comparable to the front camera of LG 3G for all hadset (KU250 i think)?

does it also support wav music files?
how many sms can be save on the phone memory?

Verzio twinn is now only P3,999.00. I bought one yesterday and i like it so far except for the not-so-good slider fit (gumagalaw) and too many keys to press just to send an sms. Other features of the phone are comparable to branded cellphones. I like the security feature of the phone too, you can password protect your phonebook, messages and other files from the prying eyes of your girlfriends or wives…hehehe!

i have the same question as nujnuj. other dual sim phones like samsung kasi, though a triband phone, only one of the sim slots is really triband. the other slot only supports dual sim. if that’s the case and you’re in the US, only 1 of your sims will work (Globe/Smart or US SIM)

I dropped by their office in Singapore to look at Duplii last week, but when i decided to buy it yesterday the place looks deserted. Their dummy phones on the shelves are all gone. So i wondered are they packing-up?
So i decided not to buy it as if they are closing down.

Attended Verzio’s Fiamma event a week ago.

Difference between Verzio Duplii and other Chinese dual SIM phones incl. Myphone:

Uses branded processor, Qualcomm for 3G and Philips NXP for GSM which is similar to the likes of Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Others are using MTK which is similar to Bird or CECT.

Triband while others are Dualband.

Phone contacts incl. 1000 names, 2000 e-mail adds and 3000 numbers plus other fields, other dual SIM phones are 800-1000 names and 800-1000 numbers only.

Can use PC Suite to tansfer to and fro MS Outlook incl. contacts and all fields, others cannot.

Bluetooth vcard contact transfer includes all fields ‘send/receive all’ or ‘one by one’ in one click, while other brands is number only, you need to input name manually one by one.

User friendly interface similar to branded phones, other phones are using Chinese standard menu.

Real megapixel camera as stated, all others incl. Myphone is interpolated VGA claim to be 2MP.

These are just a few of what they presented so others I cannot remember. Hope this helps.

While at first multi-sim seems convenient and better, but if you think deeper and in the long-run, having multiple phones is the right way.

For one, I haven’t seen a multi-sim phone (add-on support or built-in support) that can let you text and/or call at the same time for both sims. Which is possible if you have two phone units. Not that it matters (although for me it does matter – being a busy person), in the long-run, if one unit breaks down, you still have another unit to use (and exchange sims).

And if i may add having 2 unit is better specially in times of trouble. Gave my motorola phone (which is a lot cheaper from my nokia phone) to the thief who mugged me two weeks ago. And yes thanks to MOTOrola :-)

With one unit with multi-sim support, if it breaks, then all your sims are useless.

Secondly, I don’t know how Verzio will tap the Pinoy market, considering, as you’ve said, we’ve known and seen multi-sim features way way back – both as an add-on and as a built-in feature. In the end, having multiple phones prevailed (especially now, phones are cheaper [thanks to MOTOrola!!]).

If the dual sim system really works, then I’d go for it. My past experience with dual sim phones isn’t exactly that wonderful.

I haven’t tried the Verzio, though.

I’m hoping someone will share their favorable experience with this dual sim wonder.
