The Vivo NEX 3 launched in the Philippines last month. It’s a flagship smartphone that represents the best of what the Chinese company can offer so far. So, what makes the NEX 3 standout? Find out below.

One of the best things about Vivo NEX smartphones is the immersive display. In the case of the NEX 3, it features a 6.89-inch Waterfall FullView Display that curves to the edges, Full HD+ resolution, E3 OLED panel, and an impressive 99.6% screen-to-body ratio. If you like watching videos or playing games with punchy colors, deep blacks, and without the distractions of a notch, the NEX 3’s display can deliver that.
The Vivo NEX 3 was able to achieve a seamless design by letting go of the traditional volume and power buttons. Replacing them is the Touch Sense + X-Axis Haptic technology that enables you to adjust the volume and activate the power/lock features by merely pressing the right side of the device. It uses pressure sensors, multiple-sensor algorithms, and the vibration motor to create a tangible feedback. It even has a 4D Vibration feature to provide feedback when playing action-packed games.
The Vivo NEX 3 was able to eliminate the notch by using an Elevating Front Camera mechanism that houses the 16MP selfie sensor as well as an LED flash. It boasts a purpose-fit motor and customized gearbox to ensure smooth and stable elevation.
The Vivo NEX 3 is also a versatile shooter, sporting three rear cameras consisting of the 64MP F1.8 main, 13MP F2.2 ultrawide, 13MP F2.48 telephoto. It allows the user to capture subjects at different distances. It can even shoot in macro. Other features include Super Night Mode, AI Face Beauty, and 4K video recording.
The Vivo NEX 3 is a flagship smartphone so you can expect flagship internals including the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB UFS 3.0 that is supported by Vivo’s intelligent Turbo Write and HPB technologies for a faster sequential read and write speeds over UFS 2.1. The configuration allows the NEX 3 to run almost any task, including gaming, with ease.
One of the challenges of flagship smartphones is thermal management. If it has powerful specs, you can expect it to produce heat that, in turn throttles the performance of the device. In the case of the NEX 3, it uses a Vapor Chamber cooling system to allow heat to transfer evenly across the phone’s entire body. If you want to game on the NEX 3 for hours, don’t worry as it can certainly take care of the heat.
Powerful specs should always be accompanied by a big battery. We’re glad that the NEX 3 didn’t disappoint as it has a 4,500mAh capacity. In our review, it was able to last for more than a day and even lasted for more than 24 hours in our video loop test. Charging, on the other hand, is handled by the 44W Vivo FlashCharge technology, which is one of the fastest out there.
The Vivo NEX 3 (8GB + 128GB) is priced at PHP 39,999USD 682INR 57,783EUR 649CNY 4,964 and is now available in the Philippines.
