If you’re a student, fresh grad, or a parent looking for an affordable tablet for school or everyday use, chances are you’ve seen a lot of low-cost options that miss the bare-minimum in terms of performance, or have outdated Android versions.
This is where AXZY, a new local tech brand, wants to change the game.

In this review we explore the AXZY Pad and AXZY Pad Pro two entry-level tablets that aim to offer budget-friendly pricing with features that cater specifically to students, teachers, and casual users, without cutting too many corners!
And without further ado, let’s get into it.
Design and Build

Starting with design, both the AXZY Pad and Pad Pro sport aluminum rear panels, symmetrical bezels, and screen protectors pre-installed out of the box.
On the left side of both models feature USB Type-C for wired charging and data transfers, a SIM card tray with a dedicated microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening.

Found at the top are their power buttons and volume rockers, and situated at the bottom are their stereo speakers.
In the box, AXZY includes a free Bluetooth keyboard case with both tablets, turning them into mini-laptops which are wins for those thinking of using them for productivity.

We get some AXZY branding at the center of the back panels, with their respective camera housings at the top right. They aren’t too over or under designed, and without a doubt it gets the job done. The selfie camera is situated in the top bezels of each tablet’s display.

Display
Moving over to display; The AXZY Pad features an 11-inch FHD LCD display (1920×1200) while the AXZY Pad Pro ups it to a 2K resolution (2000×1200) at 11.97 inches.
Both have a 60Hz refresh rate and max out at 350 nits, which is decent for indoor use, though visibility under direct sunlight can be a little challenging. They still work well outdoors under shade.

For watching videos, browsing, or reading eBooks, both displays are more than serviceable and the larger screen and resolution of the Pad Pro gives a little more breathing room for multitasking or drawing.
Both tablet’s stereo speakers were surprisingly loud and really leveled up the multimedia consumption experience for us here in the office.

Clarity may not be the best, but it’s far from being too muffled. We get great mids and highs present, which are good-enough for most casual listening or video streaming.
Performance
Running both tablets’ operations are Unisoc T606 processors. They’re capable chipsets for basic tasks like Google’s productivity suite like Docs, Sheets, Classroom, YouTube and the bunch.

Light and heavy gaming are also possible on either of these tablets. But of course heavy gaming won’t be too optimal here.
Both tablets are configured with 4GB of on-board memory with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM expansion. For storage configurations, the AXZY Pad gets 128GB of internal storage while the Pad Pro gets 256GB.
If none of these are enough, it’s great to know that there’s expandable storage via microSD card of up to 1TB for both units.

In real world-use, for everyday productivity tasks like taking notes and creating documents or presentations, online video meetings or classes, or casual entertainment, these AXZY Pads definitely set the standard for the bare minimum.
But if you’re into heavier multitasking, need more storage, or just want a more responsive experience, the Pad Pro gives its users that extra headroom, not by so much but the extra juice is definitely there.
For those who don’t want to take our word for it, have a gander at our benchmark scores here:

Additionally, both tablets get pen support or stylus input via USI 2.0 with pressure sensitivity!
AXZY even offers their own first party pen; It’s great for note-taking, sketching, or highlighting PDFs. Sketchbook actually comes pre-installed on both tablets for those who just want to get right into digital illustrations.

The stylus performance isn’t something that can replace a dedicated pen-display but its definitely a welcome addition for those who just want to doodle and make quick sketches every now and then.
The Bluetooth keyboard that comes free with both tablets connects easily via Bluetooth and works well for typing assignments, general browsing, or chatting. It features a connect button, as well as, on and off switches on the top right for pairing to the tablets.

With Bluetooth 5.0, we can even connect up to five devices simultaneously to the tablets, which are perfect for productivity pros who want to set-up a keyboard, mouse, and earbuds all at once.
Cameras
For optics, the regular AXZY Pad gets an 8MP main rear camera and 5MP selfie shooter in front. The AXZY Pad Pro sports a 13MP main sensor at the rear and the same 5MP selfie camera.

While not flagship-level, these cameras are perfectly usable for video calls, document scanning, and casual photos which are pretty-much perfect for students and young professionals.

Picture quality obviously won’t beat dedicated-camera phones, but in proper lighting conditions we can definitely get away with very serviceable photos for messaging purposes, and the shutter fires and saves images very quick which we liked.

OS, Apps & UI
For software, both tablets run on what seems to be a Google one version of Android 15, which is Google certified, meaning Play Store and Google apps are fully supported for both tablets.
There’s practically no bloatware out of the box, except for Sketchbook. So in terms of Android skins, it’s as vanilla as it gets.

Battery Life
Battery life seems to be one of the biggest strengths here. Both tablets pack a large 8,800mAh Lithium-Polymer battery. The brand claims up to 10 hours of screen-on time and can hold a charge in standby for up to 40 days.
Both smart tablets also come with standard 10W chargers in the box, but actually support up to 18W for slightly faster charging times.

Our review units are actually engineering samples, so we were only able to run PCMark’s Work 3.0 battery test on the regular AXZY Pad, which garnered a result of 7 hours and 43 minutes.
In terms of our proprietary video loop test, the AXZY Pad lasted 8 hours and 51 minutes, while the AXZY Pad Pro got a result of 10 hours and 57 minutes.
So, it’s safe to say that battery life on both tablets are good-enough a whole day’s worth of regular usage.
Conclusion

Wrapping up this review, we must say for their first product lineup AXZY has made an impressionable entry into our local Philippine market.
The AXZY Pad and Pad Pro strike a solid balance between price, performance, and features in the entry-level smart tablet segment, making them ideal for students, young professionals, and even casual users who just need a no-fuss Android tablet.
On a personal note, I think either of these tablets are great for corporate giveaways or even a nice little gift for that young nephew.

They should’ve made a version with Helio G99 and raised the prices by 500-1k pesos because if it has a better processor, they would’ve been perfect tablets, especially for that great price, sayang!
