Infinix NOTE 50 Pro First Impressions: Your next CoDM Gaming Phone

It’s around this time last year when Infinix unveiled the NOTE 40 Pro series. Fast forward to 2025 and we’ve got the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro right here in our studio. The phone is known to be Fast to First as it has a bunch of features that aren’t seen in devices under 12K pesos.

So, what comes with the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro? What kind of specs is it running? We’ll check that out here in this hands-on review.

Design and Construction

Right off the bat, you can see that Call of Duty Mobile is plastered on the box indicating Infinix’s collaboration with the game. Let’s see if it can run that game when we check it out for ourselves.

Another thing you’ll see on the box is the One-Tap Infinix AI. That means that the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro has AI features in the smartphone which is pretty neat if the device has a similar price to last year’s model.

Now, opening the box, besides the phone itself, you get a charging brick and a USB Type-A to C cable for the device’s wired charging. This is great especially since, nowadays, newer smartphones do not include a charging brick anymore. Kudos to Infinix for this.

The NOTE 50 Pro has an ArmorAlloy metal frame while having a glass front. Our review unit is in this Enchanted Purple colorway, but you’ve also got a Racing Edition, Titanium Grey and Shadow Black color options too. It weighs around 198g which is slightly heavier than the NOTE 40 Pro.

Looking at its rear, you can see that there is a big change from its predecessor, the NOTE 40 Pro. With last year’s NOTE 40 Pro, you get a rectangular camera island while in this year’s iteration, you now have an octagon-shaped module for the lenses. It’s very distinct and stands out a lot.

From just holding the phone alone, I can see that my fingerprint smudges are evident on the device. Thankfully, Infinix has included a plastic case with a leather-like back to solve that issue. As someone who doesn’t like spotting evident fingerprints on the back of phones, this helps a lot.

The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro has IP64 splash and dust resistance so it can handle a bit of dust bunnies that get to it. Just don’t go swimming with this guy as it isn’t water resistant.

For I/Os, you have the volume and power buttons on the right side, the dual SIM card tray, type-C port, one of the dual stereo speakers and the microphone at the bottom while the top has the other speaker, and an IR blaster.

Display, Biometrics, Multimedia

Flipping to the front, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro has a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED with up to 144Hz refresh rate and 1300 nits of peak brightness. The screen is able to handle any wet or greasy touches that are on your fingers so we’ll test that out. Other than the higher refresh rate, the display size and peak brightness are quite similar to the NOTE 40 Pro.

The dual stereo speakers are tuned by JBL which are spotted above and below the smartphone.

You get really thin bezels that aren’t too noticeable when going through the device.

How’s the visual experience? We’ll have to save it for later in our full review so no spoilers for that just yet.

Camera

For optics, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro comes with a dual-rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera and 8MP lens while having a flicker sensor.

Meanwhile, there’s a 32-megapixel front camera; however, gone is the LED flash here.

As for video recording, the NOTE 50 Pro can shoot up to 2K at 30 fps from both the rear and the front. This is an upgrade compared to last year’s 1440p@30fps and 1080p@30fps respectively.

Here’s a sneak preview of some of our sample shots with the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro:

Performance, OS and UI

When it comes to performance, Infinix NOTE 50 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate. The G100 was released back in August 2024 hitting speeds up to 2.2 GHz. A Mali-G57 MP2 is its GPU.

You get 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. If you need more RAM, there’s up to 12GB of Extended RAM here, giving you a total of 24GB of RAM.

Seeing as how this smartphone is a collaboration with Call of Duty Mobile (CoDM), it was able to run the game smoothly at medium settings. I didn’t experience the phone heating up too much to the point it was hot to the touch.

For graphic intensive titles like Wuthering Waves and Zenless Zone Zero, we’ll have to keep that information in our full review so keep your eyes peeled.

The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro that we’ve got here is the 4G variant of the device, but it is running XOS 15 based on Android 15. The NOTE 50 Pro will have up to two years of Android OS updates. From what we saw when we first opened the device, it felt smooth to go through.

As mentioned earlier, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro has One-tap Infinix AI in its system or Folax. This is the device’s AI assistant that can take voice commands and do tasks like summarizing images, documents, and provide quick overviews and key points to answer a user’s inquiry.

There’s also Folax Smart Touch where the NOTE 50 Pro can recognize content on the screen. This can be activated through a quick button on the side or gestures. Users can even select apps that can have Smart Touch supported.

Connectivity, Battery and Charging

Battery-wise, the phone packs a 5,200mAh unit paired with a whopping 90W of FastCharge wired charging support and 30W of wireless charging. For under 12K, this is the only smartphone so far to provide features like 90W FastCharge, a metal frame, and 144Hz refresh rate so this is a big plus.

For all that this phone has, it sounds like it can juice up the phone quite quickly. You’ve also got Bypass Charging where if the phone is connected to the charger while it’s gaming or on video playback, the power supply will bypass the battery to power the phone directly. This prevents the phone from overheating and extends the lifespan of the battery.

Initial Thoughts

To wrap things up, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro seems like a solid package with a unique design, a really high refresh rate, and fast charging speeds. CODM players will be ecstatic to grab this as it can run the game flawlessly without any stutter. But, let’s see how that all holds up in our full review so stay tuned for that.

Along with the Infinix NOTE 50 series, besides the NOTE 50 Pro, are the Infinix NOTE 50 and the NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G.

As of writing this article, we have no news on what the exact price is for the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro in the Philippines. What we DO know (or idea of) is that the smartphone will have a 12K pesos price point. With all that it provides, it’s looking pretty neat so far.

What we do know is that the Infinix NOTE 50 series will officially launch on April 23. This will be available exclusively at Shopee 46. Along with the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro 22 will be the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G so keep an eye out for that.

Users who purchase the NOTE 50 Series from official eCommerce stores can get a 1-year Viu subscription for free until supplies last.
