iPad 2 prices dropped by Php5,000

Right after the announcement of the new 3rd-gen iPad, prices of the old iPad 2 have been cut by Php5,000 to Php6,000 on the Apple Online Store. While the Apple store is ebing hammered by millions of visitors trying to make the pre-orders, the iPad 2 price on the Apple Philippine Store got a bit of an update.

The previous prices of the iPad 2 are the following:

16GB WiFi â€“ Php23,990
32GB WiFi â€“ Php28,990
64GB WiFi â€“ Php33,990

16GB 3G+WiFi â€“ Php30,990
32GB 3G+WiFi â€“ Php35,990
64GB 3G+WiFi â€“ Php40,990

By now, and once you are able to login to the online store, prices should have been adjusted to the following:

New iPad 2 prices:
16GB WiFi â€“ Php18,990
32GB WiFi â€“ Php23,990
64GB WiFi â€“ Php28,990

16GB 3G+WiFi â€“ Php24,990
32GB 3G+WiFi â€“ Php29,990
64GB 3G+WiFi â€“ Php34,990

That’s Php5,000 off of the original prices, while the SRP of the upcoming 3rd-gen iPad will take the original figures.

You can buy it at Digital Hub (care of Charlie, PhilMUG) for P17,000.

I haven’t seen and 10″ Android device with the same hardware that is less than P20k.

Wait for the next 2-3 months and the price will sure go down as low as 13,990 that is what Apple U.S. is planning to do in the next month.

the price is really worth it. you can do lot of things in portability + quality. it might appear expensive but compared to other tablets boasting increasing memory through sd cards, we could see that ipad offers price same with other tablets having half the memory capacity.

do you have any idea when will the ipad3 be released here in the Philippines?
