it’s difficult to comprehend that the first one to introduce the qwerty keypad is the one lagging in the smartphone competition with qwerty keypad. RIM used to differentiate itself from the others by introducing wide body and with qwerty kedpad smartphones. RIM now lags behind the copycats and probably due to self infilcting mistakes. It’s easy for the others to copy its models and the question of whether it has patents for the qwerty keypad is a big question. It also becomes complacent in developing its phones with the new wave of competitors have models with attractive designs and features.
