Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Hands-On
Lenovo has recently added another model under its ThinkBook business-class laptops. Just like its name suggests, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus offers more than your usual laptop, thanks to, not one, but two screens— a 13.3-inch FHD main and a 10.8-inch E-ink secondary to boost the productivity and multitasking of users. Check out our hands-on below.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus sports an anodized aluminum shell in Mineral Gray. On top is the 10.8-inch, E-ink display in black and white. It is made with a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT that claims to be highly scratch-resistant and promises reduced scratch visibility. It comes with a 65W USB-C charger and a power cable rated at 7A/125W.
The secondary display can be used as a whiteboard for taking down quick notes. it may show the date, time, weather, along with its customizable background which can be changed through its settings.
The business laptop also comes with a magnetic Precision Pen that allows users to quickly launch the Note app, write, copy, and
paste written texts, as well as erase it. It is powered with a single AAA battery. Since ThinkBook Plus does not have a dedicated slot for its stylus, both sides of its top panel are also magnetic.
You can find the ThinkBook branding on the lower right side of the top panel.
Meanwhile, the Lenovo branding is located on the upper left corner.
Flipping it upside down shows the laptop’s vents for cooling its hardware on the upper left side. Underneath it is the single grille and rubber feet. The double Harman Kardon-branded speakers certified with Dolby Audio are placed on the lower opposite sides of the ThinkBook Plus.
Its lid houses its integrated, four-array microphone that supports Amazon Alexa.
Opening the lid reveals the reasonably spaced, quiet, and backlit chiclet keyboard with Function keys. And since it is a business laptop, it comes with dedicated Skype for Business hotkeys. Underneath it is the smooth touchpad in a matte finish with minimal smudges, as well as right and left-click buttons.
In terms of ports, the left side of the ThinkBook Plus has two USB 3.0 Type-A ports where one of which has an always-on function. Next to the ports are the power button and responsive fingerprint scanner combo, as well as an LED indicator. It has a discrete TPM 2.0 that ensures Windows 10 security features and data encryption.
Powering the ThinkBook Plus is a 10th-gen Intel Core i7-10710U, 16GB DDR4 RAM, integrated Intel UHD graphics, up to 512GB M.2 PCle SSD, and Windows 10 Pro. The 45Whr battery, on the other hand, is claimed to last for 10 hours.
