Spec-wise, the MyPhone my28S wins in terms of internal storage and microSD card expansion, having double the amount compared to the Flare Lite 2.
Both phones sport 5MP rear cameras, however, the my28 has the upper hand when it comes to the front camera for having a 2MP camera with LED flash which appeals to those who want to take selfies in dark environments.
When it comes to battery, the my28S has a slightly higher battery capacity at 1,450mAh. That’s 50mAh higher than the Flare Lite 2. As for the operating system, the my28S is already running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The Flare Lite 2, on the other, hand, is stuck at Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
In terms of pricing, the Flare Lite 2 is originally priced at Php1,999, same as the my28S. However, the Cherry Prepaid’s Flare 799 Bundle puts the phone under a very affordable Php799. What the Flare Lite 2 lacks in specs, it makes up for in services and freebies like a free Cherry Prepaid SIM card pre-installed, free text messages to all networks, free Facebook, bonus loads, and free data. The only downside we see here is that the bundle is only a special promo that will last until April 30, 2016.
That doesn’t end there though as Smart is also offering the MyPhone my28S for a one-time payment of Php888 and comes with a free Smart Prepaid sim containing 7 days free Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Added perks include free 100MB of mobile data per month for 1 year, as well as an additional Php30 load if you top up at least Php100 per month, and a free TNT SIM with Unlimited all-net texts for 2 days.
