Cherry Mobile took the wraps off its latest Flare lineup, the Flare S8 Series. Included in that is the Flare S8 Pro, sitting in the middle of the standard Flare S8 and the Flare S8 Plus. Check out the Flare S8 Pro with its dual rear cameras, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Helio P22 chipset, and a price just below PHP 6,000USD 102INR 8,668EUR 97CNY 745.
The third member of the Flare S8 family is the Flare S8 Pro, with its screen size measuring at 6.5-inches. A 20MP front camera resides in the teardrop notch upfront. Similar to the standard Flare S8, the S8 Pro also has wide bezels surrounding the display.
Rear-wise, the S8 Pro has its dual-camera setup, comprised of 20MP + 5MP shooters. There’s also a rounded square-shaped fingerprint scanner, an aspect that distinguishes it from the standard S8 and its circular scanner.
On the left is the hybrid dual SIM tray.
The right side houses the volume and power buttons. I found the placement of the buttons a little higher than usual. Despite that, they’re still pretty clicky.
Speakers, microphone, and the USB-C port take up space at the bottom of the smartphone, while oddly enough, there’s nothing at the top apart from another microphone. The S8 Pro, sadly, does not have a 3.5mm audio port; users would need to have an adapter or wireless earphones.
When held, the S8 Pro has some heft to it, and that’s most likely due to the 4,000mAh battery that it carries. It’s a tad heftier size-wise than the standard S8, but it’s still comfortable to hold.
Powering up the S8 Pro is a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, expandable up to 512GB via microSD. It also has expandable storage up to 512GB, and face recognition as additional biometric security. Cherry Mobile unveiled that the S8 Pro has a price of PHP 5,999USD 102INR 8,666EUR 97CNY 744. While we’re still on the lookout for when this smartphone will hit the markets, we’re curious about well the Flare S8 Pro will perform. Stay tuned for that.
