New ASUS smartphone surfaces with dual-camera setup

A new ASUS smartphone has popped up with a benchmark database showing its specs. From among the details is a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP and 5MP configuration.

The specs listed for a device codenamed as ASUS X001D on GFXBench include a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a Qualcomm octa-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, dual rear cameras, and an 8MP front shooter.

It could be that the dual rear cameras are for producing bokeh shots as a lot of phones have been coming out with the said feature. The ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom already has this technology, but it sports a 2.3x optical zoom for getting closer to your subjects.

Nothing much has been revealed regarding its availability and price. Stay tuned.
