Nokia 5.1 Plus gets Android 9.0 Pie

HMD Global has announced that it is rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie update for the Nokia 5.1 Plus.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus was announced in July and became available in the Philippines in October. It’s an Android One-powered smartphone that sports a 5.86-inch screen, dual-rear cameras, a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, and shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo.

Here are some of the changes and improvements that come with the Android 9.0 Pie update:
• New system navigation, settings menu and notifications
• Adaptive Battery power prioritization for users’ most commonly used apps/services
• Adaptive and optimized brightness levels
• Predictive Application Actions
• Google Security Patch 2018-12

Users are reporting that the OTA update comes at around 1.2GB in size so downloading the update via WiFi connection is recommended.
