Nokia 6 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta now available in India

Listen to article

HMD Global has announced the roll-out of Android 8.0 beta build in India for the Nokia 6 following the beta release for the Nokia 5 a few weeks back. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, tweeted out the new development on January 6, 2018.

Android 8.0 Oreo brings many back-end changes as well as user-oriented features such as app optimizations, better battery management algorithms, autofill paswords, faster boot up, notification channels, notifications dots, the Google Play Protect malware system and picture-in-picture support for applications. To get started, you’ll have to sign up for HMD’s beta labs program, and enter your device details. Once your phone is enrolled, you’ll receive beta builds as and when they’re available, and you’ll be able to provide feedback. Take note, though, that as of writing, the Oreo beta roll-out is currently only available in India.

Nokia didn’t confirm yet as to when exactly the final version will be released. Stay tuned for more updates.
