Google confirms it will roll out Android 17 Beta 1 update soon, eligible first for  Pixel devices.

The announcement came shortly after the release of Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2.1, indicating that Google’s next major Android update is already underway. Google states that Android 17 Beta 1 will deliver three main improvements through its upcoming update, which include bug fixes, performance enhancements, and system stability improvements. The update will be delivered to all users who are part of the Android Beta Program as soon as it becomes available.

“Cinnamon Bun” is its codename; Android 17 is expected to bring new gaming features and other enhancements when the stable version arrives.

If you don’t want to install the beta, Google advises opting out of the program now and ignoring the “Downgrade” update to avoid data loss. The stable Android 17 release is expected in Q2 2026.
