Google has announced a range of creator-focused features in Android 17. They are aimed at making it easier to capture, edit and share content directly from smartphones and tablets.

One of the new features is Screen Reactions. This lets users record themselves and their screen at the same time, making it easier to create reaction videos without needing to switch apps or set up a green screen.
Google is also working with Meta Platforms to improve the Instagram experience on Android. Supported devices will gain features such as Ultra HDR capture and playback, built-in video stabilization and Night Sight integration for better low-light photos and videos.
The brand says it has also optimized the upload process so that photos and videos posted to Instagram retain more of their original quality. Instagram is now fully optimized for Android tablets as well.
Google is bringing new Android-exclusive tools to Instagram’s Edits app. Smart Enhance can upscale photos and videos with a single tap using on-device AI while Sound Separation can isolate voices, music and background noise to make audio cleanup easier.
For more advanced video work, Adobe Premiere is coming to Android soon. There are templates and effects designed for creating YouTube Shorts.
Google also highlighted Advanced Professional Video (APV). This is a new storage-efficient video format co-developed with Samsung Electronics.
APV is currently supported on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra. More flagship devices are expected to support it later this year.
