Google has announced Googlebook. This is a new category of laptops designed around Gemini AI and built to work closely with Android devices.

With Googlebook, the company is combining Android apps from Google Play, the Chrome browser and a new AI-focused software experience into what it calls an ‘intelligence system’.
One of the headline features is Magic Pointer which is an AI-powered cursor that can suggest actions based on what is on the screen.
For example, users can point at a date in an email to create a calendar event or select two images to visualize them together.

Googlebook also supports ‘Create your Widget’, letting users generate custom widgets using simple prompts.
Gemini can pull information from apps such as Gmail and Calendar to create personalized dashboards.

The new platform is deeply integrated with Android. Users will be able to open apps from their phones directly on the laptop. They can also access phone files through the file manager without transferring them manually.
Google says the first Googlebook devices will be made by Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo.
More details, including pricing and specifications will be announced later this year.
