OPPO released a couple of foldable smartphones earlier and one of them is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1-powered OPPO Find N2. It seems like it wants to take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, so let’s compare their specs and find out which one looks better on paper.

Table of Contents
Both smartphones have a book-like foldable design, which is the typical design used for smartphones with two large screens. Starting with their main or inner displays, the Z Fold4 sports a larger 7.6-inch screen, compared to the Find N2’s 7.1-inch, which is a mere 0.5-inch difference. The former also has a slightly higher resolution but only results in a 3ppi difference, which is negligible.
For the cover screen, the Z Fold4 still has a larger screen at 6.2-inch, versus the Find N2’s 5.54-inch, which is a 0.66-inch difference. The two almost have the same range of resolution, but due to the latter’s smaller screen, it houses an extra 28ppi. Although, we doubt that users will notice the difference.
Both have AMOLED panels for rich colors and deep blacks, and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth animations and transitions. For protection, the FInd N2 uses UTG for the main cover and Gorilla Glass Victus for the cover. The Z Fold4, on the other hand, uses Gorilla Glass Victus+.
Both foldable is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 730 GPU, so we can expect the same level of performance.
The OPPO Find N2 has the advantage in terms of capacity as it has two options: 12GB and 16GB, compared to the Z Fold4’s 12GB only.
Storage-wise, the Z Fold4 has more options as it offers 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, while the Find N2 only offers 256GB and 512GB. Both use UFS 3.1 storage types, so we can expect the same read and write speeds.
Both have triple-rear cameras with a 50MP main. However, the Find N2 has higher resolution cameras for the telephoto and ultra-wide lens at 32MP and 48MP, respectively, compared to the Z Fold4’s 10MP and 12MP.
For the front camera, the two devices have a front-facing camera in the inner and cover screens, but the Find N2 has higher-resolution 32MP shooters, versus the Z Fold4’s 4MP and 10MP.
So, resolution-wise, we expect the Find N2 to produce sharper images.
The two devices have dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GNSS, USB-C, side-mounted fingerprint scanners, and stereo speakers. However, the Z Fold4 has the better WiFi 6e to support 6GHz band.
On the other hand, the Find N2 has the newer Bluetooth 5.3, which is more efficient that Bluetooth 5.2.
Both devices also support the stylus, with the Z Fold4 having the S-Pen, while the Find N2 has the OPPO Pen.
What will tip the scales towards the Z Fold4, though, is the IPX8 water resistance, which the Find N2 doesn’t have.
In terms of capacity, the Z Fold4 wins with an extra 150mAh. However, the Find N2 has a significantly faster-charging rate at 67W, versus the 25W of the Z Fold4. The latter has an advantage, though, with wireless charging.
Which one to get?
The OPPO Find N2 is yet to launch in the Philippines, so we cannot make a recommendation based on the price. But if you’re looking for a foldable with a larger screen, maximum storage possible, water resistance, and slightly higher battery capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is a good choice.
However, if you want the higher-resolution cameras, bigger RAM option, improved Bluetooth, and faster charging, go for the OPPO Find N2.
