Samsung and LG are not the only Korean players in the phablet market as Pantech launched the 5-inch, S4 Pro-powered Vega R3 to compete with the likes of the Galaxy Note 2 and the Optimus Vu.
The Pantech Vega R3 aims to best the competition with a 5.3-inch Natural IPS Pro LCD display with 720p resolution and Zero Bezel Tech. It has 2GB of RAM, an Adreno 320 GPU, 13 megapixel camera, microSD slot and a stylus judging from the back photo. It carries a 2,600mAh battery that promises 14 hours and 30 minutes of talk time – an eyebrow-raising feat since it also sports a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset under the hood. The Vega R3 also managed to be 11 grams lighter than the Galaxy Note 2 (180 g) at 169 g.
The phablet offers a full set of connectivity features like LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. It will run Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with a planned Jellybean update.
As of the moment the Pantech Vega R3 is available via South Korea’s major telecoms. No word on international availability yet but we can that hope it reaches other countries soon.
Which phablet do you think will come out on top – the Galaxy Note 2, the Optimus Vu, the rumored Nexus 5 or the Vega R3? Share your thoughts below.

Hmm interesting, but I’d still go for the nexus 5, I liked the galaxy note 2 but a nexus phablet with mostly the best specs is the better choice XD

Panalo consumers dito, madaming lumalabas na device sa ibat ibang range..
ang magkakatalo na lang yung price and support, let see kung pano imamanage ng samsung at lg to..
Kung mababa price nito papatok to, pero kung mga 25k+ I will still go for note 2,
marjon says:
Tama this irrelevant if this device will not be available locally. Much better if will focus on the new Galaxy Note 2 and upcoming Nexus 5.
