Qualcomm and Samsung announce extended licensing deal

In a recent press release, Qualcomm announced that they have expanded their cross-licensing agreement with Samsung. This covers both mobile devices such as future Samsung Galaxy smartphones, as well as infrastructure equipment.

This follows Qualcomm’s signing of $2B worth of MOUs with Chinese mobile companies OPPO, Vivo, Lenovo, Xiaomi, and ZTE just last week.

The companies have also announced that they have extended their technology and business partnership with in an effort to make the transition to 5G.

“As Qualcomm continues to lead the world to 5G, the opportunities between our companies are growing and this agreement sets us both on a path for continued success,” said Cristiano Amon, president of Qualcomm Inc.
