Samsung has announced the successor to last year’s Galaxy Grand, the Galaxy Grand 2. Now packing a slightly larger display with better resolution and a quad-core CPU.

To start with, the Galaxy Grand 2 has a 5.25-inch TFT display with HD resolution (1280 x 720) or equal to 280ppi. It retains the 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.9 megapixel front-facing, and 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support for up to 64GB.

In addition, it has dual-SIM capabilities and features a faux-leather rear that is similar to the Galaxy Note 3. Powering the device is a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, Android 4.3 Jellybean and a 2,600mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be offered in White, while the Black and Pink variants will be available in selective regions. No information yet on pricing and availability.

Ako naman, I like Samsung smartphones for the reasons – since they are popular and many are using them, you can just buy their accessories and spare batteries almost anywhere. I hope the price is reasonable.

I said “dugyuting ipone 4s” because i love this hassle free edition of ipone but i hated ipone 5 and 5c thats why i never upgraded pa but im gonna check 5s mukhang okay but esep esep pa muna dahil i hated the screen size bat pa kasi di pinalki ginawang 4.5 kaya medyo nasa alanganing stage pe ako…

Natatawa naman ako sa mga taong nagcocoment ng pare pareho ang itsura ng samsung galaxy. palagay nyo nde naisip ng mga highly paid executive ng samsung yan? nakngputsa branding tawag dun. deliberate ang sinasadya nla just to put into to your minds na kapag nakakita ka ng galaxy at mas maraming gumagamit nito mas ok. senpre ang mga tao gus2 laging in. ayaw ma out of place. ngaun kung may question pa kau kung effective sya… tignan nyo nalng sales report nla. enough said.

And you only got more or less 4 GB for apps and games, daym. Kung Php15-17k ito I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t go for a Note 2.

I am not an ifan pero notice ko lang, almost all phones of samsung looks the same. And I remember it madaming pumupuna sa Iphone kapag their design is the same…hmm siguro dahil na din sa tagal magrelease ang iphone eh bakit same pa din ang itsura…unlike samsung, every month meron, so same pa din itsura sa iba….

Just my opnion and idea.

You know why samsung stole the number position from apple? because they dont think like you! Dont you know about branding? tignan mo ang nokia… every release nila ng phone iba itsura, kulay at class. look at them now…

More of the same generic Samsung design. I can imagine a few insecure S4 owners cringing at the idea of their phone being mistaken as a Galaxy Grand.

Maybe not, but it’s hard to deny that there is a certain percentage of owners that only buy the S4 for the bragging rights and not much else. Not everyone is after the hardware and the great features in Samsung’s ROM.

Like what you said in your comment below, “gusto ng mga tao na laging in and ayaw ma-out of place”. That point is exactly what makes the S4 less of a premium smartphone with its watered-down design that you can see just about everywhere now that Samsung is number 1 in smartphone sales in the world (kudos to them).

It’s a good thing for the plebians who can only afford lower-end models like the Grand 2 (stretching the term “lower-end” here, we all know it’s gonna be a bit pricey), but not-so-good for the nouveau riche posers who want the S4 for social climbing.

Although as an afterthought, I applaud those aforementioned social climbers who buy an S4. Everyone knows that the REAL social climbing phone is an iPhone.
