Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is now official

Samsung has finally announced the shock and water-resistant version of the Galaxy S6. Called the Galaxy S6 Active, the handset shares many of the specs and features of the S6.

Aside from the usual rugged case and IP68 water and dust resistance, the S6 Active also features a larger 3,500mAh battery.

Samsung also added an Activity Zone which can be accessed via a dedicated physical button on the left side that launches your assigned command with either a single or double press of the blue button.

The S6 Active will only be available in 32GB capacity and no mention of any expandable storage options. The Galaxy S^ Active is initially available with AT&T but it will likely be available in open channels later.

No word as to how much heavier and thicker the S6 Active is compared to the Galaxy S6.
