SKT announce Galaxy A Quantum, world’s first QRNG powered 5G Smartphone

SKT, in partnership with Samsung Electronics and ID Quanitque, is releasing the world’s first QRNG-powered 5G smartphone.

The Galaxy A Quantum is a security-centric smartphone, equipped with a quantum random number generator (QRNG) chip that measures 2.5 x 2.5mm. This chip allows users to use selected services securely. Its security features include:

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for T-ID
  • Biometric authentication-based payments for SK Pay
  • Blockchain-based mobile e-certification service

Other features include a 6.7-inch Full HD Infinity-O display, Samsung’s Exynos 980 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage with microSD support.

The Galaxy A Quantum comes with a quad-rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP main shooter, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 5MP depth sensor. Selfies are taken with a 32MP front-facing camera.

Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery, and it comes in black, silver, and blue colorways.

It’s open for preorders from May 15 to MAy 21, 2020, and will officially launch on May 22, 2020, in Korea.
