ZTE Blade A711 Review

Display and Multimedia

Despite the spacious 5.5-inch screen, images still remain crisp and detailed as it’s been fitted with a Full HD resolution display. This equates to 401 pixels per inch, making the graphics appear tightly-packed. Colors are lifelike and with good tonal balance, too. Although there is a noticeable bezel that frames the content, the size of its screen makes it enjoyable enough to watch videos or movies. The display also has slight, unavoidable glares, but viewing angles are decent since it sports an IPS panel.

The speaker positioned at the back gives off some good volume levels. Not only can they go loud, but they also throw sound that is clear and easily distinguishable. This is mainly due to the DTS audio that expands the sound image beyond what the speaker could produce. Its volume would not suffice for a big group, of course, but it is a lot better than other handsets in this price range.

Camera

Armed with a 13-megapixel rear shooter, the Blade A711 produced well-saturated images when shooting outdoors and abundant with light. It might be a bit too vibrant for some, but I personally liked how lively the shots looked. However, when used at night or in low-light areas, the colors tend to be dull as it concentrates more on the exposure. Its 5-megapixel front camera, on the other hand, gave out decent shots for selfies and even while making video calls.

Overall, video quality is acceptable and compensates for exposure pretty well, depending on where you point it. We just noticed that when zooming in on subjects, massive amounts of quality are lost in the process, resulting to blurry images.

OS, UI, and Apps

The Blade A711 runs on the 5.1 version of Android and is then layered with the company’s Nubia UI 3.0. The interface is generally neat and easy to navigate.  From out of the box, it contains almost no bloatware apps, so that’s a good thing. Out of its 16GB internal storage, users are left with around 11GB for media and additional apps. If you ever run out of space, the SIM slot 2 could be loaded with a microSD card in order to stretch the storage up to 128GB.

  1. Not for gaming? Wait for user reviews nalang. Second wave na bibili.

    • sir magkano kya kpag motherboard ang sira ? saka may mabibilihan ba nun dto ?

  2. Sir how about the led flash of the back camera? any sample pic with out any light source except sa led flash.. mga 1 – 2 meters away from the object..

  3. Saw some feedback that its plagued with issues and severe batt drain?

    • Page 3:
“Regarding software bugs such as randomly shutting down, ZTE says that they have already fixed the issue before sending the stocks here in the Philippines. True enough, we didn’t experience any app crashing or anything of that sort. Another issue that users in different countries were complaining about was the temperature of the device getting really high. During our entire time with the Blade A711, the only part where it got warm (but not too warm) was when we ran the benchmarks. It even kept its cool during our battery test that had the device playing videos for hours.”

  4. sabi daw sa ibang review ay washed out ng konti ang color ng screen , okay speakers, average battery life , not always working ang fingerprint scanner , kinda laggy sa recent apps , okay camera but not great at not for graphics intensive games just for casual games……

  5. Better to avoid these ”patapon” Snapdragons (SD810, SD615) para iwas sakit ulo.
Sana Mediatek Hexa na lang yung kinabit

    • Hay naku may masabi lang ang batang qalang pambili. Old news na ang issues about sd 810 at 615. Subukan mong gumamit ng samsung a8 yun e kung papapasukin ka sa mall.

    • Snapdragons gains much hotter than mtk pero mas matibay sila more than mtk.

  6. I’m impressed para sa 7690 price tapos naka snapdragon 615 na. Sana dalhin din ng zte sa pinas yung flagships na axon series.

  7. May Scratch-resistant glass ba ang screen nito?

  8. Waiting for your review before release sa Lazada,.thanks!

    • Specially about sa battery performance,. Hoping to buy this product kasi ganda ng specs for a 7k phone,.waiting for Lazada release product review

  9. Bakit po mabilis at madalasag init upper part ng device. Minsan, kahit nagchacharge lang to think nasa baba yung charge port. Or, kahit music playing lang, nag iinit na. Natatakot na ako. Do we have remedy on this concern? THANKS

    • Meron, tapon mo sa basurahan,,,ahahahaha

  10. PANU PO GINAGAWA NYO PAG HINDI NA UNLOCK UNG SCREEN PURO BLINK LNG
