Alienware M15 launches in the Philippines, priced

Along with Dell’s G-series launch, Dell also unveiled the Alienware M15 – the first official Alienware laptop to be released in the country. Visually it looks stunning with the slim bezels and honeycomb design. The logo on the back is discreet, and overall it doesn’t scream “gamer.” There are no unnecessary edges or overdesign. Like the G-series, the M15 was also designed with portability in mind, only spanning 20.1mm at the thickest, and 2.16kg.

The Alienware M15 is equipped with a 15.6-inch FHD display capable of running at 240Hz, an Intel Core i7-9750H, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. With what’s under the hood, gamers should be able to play any game they want on the native resolution and take advantage of the high refresh rate display. Content creators would also love the 100% sRGB color gamut available on the 240Hz variant.

To help regulate the power coming into both the CPU and GPU, Alienware used 6 and 8 VRMs (Voltage Regulator Module). It should, in practice, keep the core clocks higher if the cooling is sufficient enough.

To achieve maximum surface area for cooling, the M15 implemented a honeycomb designed grill. Alienware used three heat pipes that appear to be in direct contact with the CPU and GPU, connected to 2, 106-bladed intake fans. There are passive exhaust grills at the back and on both sides, while the fans intake from the bottom.

The keyboard has individually lit, configurable RGB enabled keys. Interestingly they increased the keyboard’s key travel from the G-series’ 1.4mm to 1.7mm. From my short testing, the actuation point seems lower as well. I like the G-series’ keyboard better because you get to activate the keys quicker, but heavy typists may love the longer key travel.
