Listen to article

Audible has announced the rollout of immersion reading in the Audible app.

Audible’s new feature allows users who own both the audiobook and eBook versions of a title in their Audible and Kindle libraries to follow along with synchronized, highlighted text while the audiobook plays.

This feature was previously limited to Kindle directly into the Audible app.

Users can switch between “Listen” and “Read & Listen” modes with word-by-word highlighting staying in sync with the narration.

Immersion reading launches with hundreds of thousands of titles in multiple languages. It is now rolling out in the U.S. with the UK, Australia, and Germany coming next. A global launch has not been revealed yet.
