Ayaneo’s latest handheld, the Pocket DS, is now up for preorder via Indiegogo, starting at $399 for early backers (PHP 22,825.99), with shipping expected by October 2025. Designed as a modern tribute to the Nintendo DS, it runs Android 13 and sports a 7-inch 1080p OLED folding screen on top, paired with a 5-inch 4:3 LCD display below.

Powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, the Pocket DS comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, plus microSD expansion. The entry-level model features 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.

Other features include Hall effect triggers, anti-drift TMR joysticks, gyro controls, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, a fingerprint scanner, and a hefty 8,000mAh battery. It also supports performance tuning and lets users disable the second screen to save power.

While emulation capabilities are still unconfirmed, the Pocket DS looks like Ayaneo’s most accessible and nostalgic handheld yet, finally bringing dual-screen gaming back in style.
