Globe has expanded its 5G network coverage to 212 sites in Visayas and 25 in Mindanao, for a total of 237 new sites with 5G coverage.

In particular, Davao City, Cebu, Iloilo City, Zamboanga City, Cagayan de Oro City, Boracay, and Bacolod City will now have access to 5G.
The expansion was accomplished by the network during the end of the third quarter of 2022, aiming to provide more consumers and businesses with improved connectivity and access to faster data speeds.
It can be recalled that Globe had already fired up 380 new 5G sites in the first quarter of 2022 to augment outdoor and in-building solutions in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, Davao, Cebu, Misamis Oriental, and Iloilo.
The expansion of 5G technology in Visayas and Mindanao is intended to help bridge the digital divide between these regions and the rest of the country. It also aims to support economic development and encourage the growth of new industries and businesses in the said areas.
“We believe that the expansion of 5G technology in Visayas and Mindanao is essential for driving economic growth, supporting innovation, and providing access to fast and reliable digital services for residents and businesses in these regions,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Network Planning & Engineering.
According to Globe, 5G technology can deliver internet speeds up to 100 times faster than 4G. It also has less lag, making it suitable for video streaming and gaming.

Globe has significantly deteriorated despite its so-called expansion. Globe’s number portability is not implemented properly and violates portability law.
