The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced a possible extension for the deadline of the mandatory E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark. Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said it could last until the end of the year to give businesses time to comply.

For reference, the Trustmark serves as a seal certifying that goods sold online have passed safety and quality checks. For interested readers, the badge has a validity lasting for one (1) year.
Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 25-12, S. 2025 mandates the Trustmark for all online merchants. This affects platforms operating under Republic Act No. 11967 or the Internet Transactions Act of 2023.
DTI Assistant Secretary Marcus Valdez II reiterated that securing the badge is mandatory. Securing the mark legitimizes businesses and protects consumers from fraudulent sellers.
As of September 8, the DTI has already issued badges to Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lalamove, and more. DTI also warned that sellers operating without a Trustmark could face takedowns from digital platforms.
To qualify, businesses must submit their registration documents, a valid government-issued ID, tax certificates, and other permits. Fees for the Trustmark total PHP 1,130, which covers the application, web administration, and documentary stamp tax.

However, Valdez said the P1,000 application fee is waived from DTI-registered Barangay Micro Business Enterprises. The DTI informed the public that the Trustmark was mandatory on September 10, 2025 via a Facebook post.
