The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced a possible extension for the deadline of the mandatory E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark. For reference, the Trustmark serves as a seal certifying that goods sold online have passed safety and quality checks. 2025 mandates the Trustmark for all online merchants. DTI Assistant Secretary Marcus Valdez II reiterated that securing the badge is mandatory. As of September 8, the DTI has already issued badges to Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lalamove, and more. DTI also warned that sellers operating without a Trustmark could face takedowns from digital platforms. Fees for the Trustmark total PHP 1,130, which covers the application, web administration, and documentary stamp tax. The DTI informed the public that the Trustmark was mandatory on September 10, 2025 via a Facebook post.
