NVIDIA introduces DLSS 5 for better game graphics

Listen to article

NVIDIA has introduced DLSS 5, a new AI-powered graphics technology designed to improve how games look in real time. The company said the update helps make game visuals more realistic by improving lighting, materials, and overall image quality.

DLSS 5 uses a neural rendering model that works with a game’s data to enhance each frame. It adds more detailed lighting and textures while keeping the original design of the game. The system runs in real time and can support up to 4K resolution.

The technology builds on earlier versions of DLSS, which focused on boosting performance by adding frames and improving resolution. With DLSS 5, NVIDIA is now focusing more on visual quality while still keeping smooth gameplay.

Game developers will have control over how the effects are applied, including settings for color, lighting, and detail. The system also works with NVIDIA’s existing tools, making it easier for developers to add it to their games.

Several game studios, including Bethesda, CAPCOM, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games, are planning to support DLSS 5 in upcoming titles like Starfield and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

NVIDIA said DLSS 5 will start rolling out this fall, with previews already shown at its recent event.
