Samsung announce Galaxy Chromebook, a Chromebook with a 4K AMOLED display

Samsung also announced the Galaxy Chromebook, a Project Athena compliant Chromebook with a 4K AMOLED display, at CES2020.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is equipped with a 13.3-inch UHD display that will soon come with HDR400. Under the hood, it sports a 10th Generation Intel Core Processor with Intel UHD Graphics. For RAM, it can have up to 16GB of LPDDR3, and up to 1TB SSD storage. While it can connect wirelessly via WiFi 6, there’s no mention of Bluetooth in their official release.

For audio, it sports a dual 2W stereo speakers and an internal digital dual-array mic + mono mic combo. For headphone users, there’s a 3.5mm combo audio jack on the left side of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook has a 1MP front camera and an 8MP camera located on the keyboard deck. While it’s in a seemingly odd position, it becomes a rear camera when the keyboard is folded. There’s also a fingerprint reader for security and ease of access.

Both colorways of the Galaxy Chromebook will be available in Q1 2020, with a starting price of USD 999.99.
