SSS Unveils MySSS Card: An ID and Debit Card in One

Listen to article

The Social Security System (SSS) has launched the MySSS Card, a new ID that also works as a debit card, giving members, pensioners, and beneficiaries an easier way to access their benefits.

Starting October 1, 2025, the MySSS Card officially replaces the UMID card and brings new features that combine social security access with everyday banking. Members can now receive pensions, loans, and other benefits directly through the card while also using it to shop, pay for transportation, or make online purchases.

SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro explained that the MySSS Card is equipped with an EMV chip, biometric authentication, and integration with the National ID system for added security. Once a member applies, the card will automatically serve as their main disbursement account, removing the need for separate enrollment under DAEM.

The rollout begins with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) as the first partner bank through its DiskarTech platform. Other banks such as Asia United Bank (AUB), China Bank, and Union Bank will soon join the program, giving members more options for issuance.

To apply, members must have an active My.SSS account, a permanent SS number, and a National ID. After verification, the partner bank will issue the card. Delivery takes 15 working days for Metro Manila and 20 days for areas outside the capital.

De Claro said this move is part of the government’s push to modernize public services, making it faster and more convenient for Filipinos to enjoy their hard-earned benefits.
