The Sony Xperia 1 series has always been an understated, underrated, and lowkey flagship lineup. Despite coming with flagship specifications and other features that we wished other manufacturers haven’t gotten rid of, it seems to fly under the radar quite often. Well, the Sony Xperia 1 VII has just been leaked. We’d recommend you take a look as it might just be the last of its kind.
The Sony Xperia 1 lineup comes rocking with the latest chipset available at the time, which means that this Xperia 1 VII will probably be rocking the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. We could go on and on about the previous iteration’s 120Hz FHD+ display, Gorilla Glass Victus certification, and an impressive Sony Zeiss triple-camera setup, but that is something we’ve come to expect from a halo device in 2025.
What sets the Xperia 1 series apart is the inclusion of the microSD card slot for expandable storage. That is a rare sight, most especially for flagship devices, in 2025.
It also seems like the 3.5mm headphone jack with Premium Audio Output has been kept here – reminding us of the DAC in LG V phones of yesteryear. Here are some leaked photos, courtesy of SumahoDigest.

Not much looks to be changed on the design side of things.

What’s really interesting, though, is that this phone now comes in Purple. This definitely adds a bit of pop and deviates from the monochromatic colorways associated with Sony’s handhelds in recent years.

Up front looks to be the same 6.56-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080) OLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.

What do you think about this?
