Whether you’re upgrading from an old card or building a new system, choosing the right GPU can be tricky. With all the options from NVIDIA and AMD, consumers have a difficult time picking exactly what card they need for the budget they have. To help you narrow down your choices, we created a list of all GPUs from both companies, consisting of three generations of GPUs.

Author’s Note: This guide assumes that the GPU is the limiting factor of your system. We’ll be updating this list as NVIDIA’s new 3000-series cards are released.

The list is arranged from weakest to strongest, and cards that perform within 10% of each other are grouped in one cell. On the left-most column is a rough guide to the card’s performance levels. For example, when we say 1080p High, we mean the card can play most games in 1080p high settings around 60FPS. Going down the list means that it can output more FPS, provided you’re not bottlenecked elsewhere. The high refresh rate tag, on the other hand, means that it’s capable of outputting more than 60FPS. We erred on the side of caution here, taking into account the most demanding games today. Older games are typically easier to run and would require weaker GPUs.
Again, this is just a rough guide to help you with your purchase decisions. As always, check the benchmarks to better understand the capabilities of the card before pulling the trigger.

the GTX super cards are missing on the list. We need to update those to replace the vanilla 1650 and 1660
