Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer G.SKILL has recently announced a new memory kit — The Trident Z DDR4-4600MHz Extreme Performance.
The new Trident Z kits were made specifically to run a dual-channel memory configuration on Intel’s latest X299 socket. The new kits also support Intel XMP 2.0. It will available in two colors — silver aluminum body with white accent bar and black aluminum with black accent bar. As of launch the only kit to be available is a 16GB (8GBx2) set.
G.SKILL has also provided stress tests to showcase the Trident Z’s speed. These results were done with an Intel Kaby Lake-X Core i7-7740X and an ASRock x299 motherboard.
This memory kit is one of, if not, the first to have a speed of 4600MHz. Pricing is yet to be announced. It will be available at G.SKILL authorized distribution partners around the end of September.
