Razer combines mechanical and membrane switches in new Ornata keyboard

Listen to article

Razer combines the best of both keyboard worlds in its new Ornata keyboard — a mechanical input with a membrane cushion for that more tactile feel as you press the buttons.

Other features include an adjustable Chroma backlighting and custom designed keycaps that have been made shorter to reduce the time it takes for your actions to register, and a wrist rest for long hours of typing or gameplay. It also has a 10-key rollover, programmable keys, and a dedicated gaming mode for those Starcraft or DOTA 2 sessions.

The Razer Ornata is now available for pre-order at the company’s online store for Php4,599 (excludes shipping fees and import taxes) and will ship starting later this month.

Just for the sake of the “Clicky” sound o.O

Dunno if membrane is that reliable for long term use. :|

better go full mechanical than this piece of crap memchanical. you will tend to bottom out, hence a more membrane feel than tactile. it is assumed by enthusiasts the reason they designed a membrane-mechanical keyboard is for the lights/leds.

at that price, there are better mechanical keyboards out there.
