As previously reported, ECS has unveiled details of their Simply Smart ECS G10IL and boy, does it have a whooping 7.2 Mbps HSDPA built-in with it.
The UMPC will come in two display sizes — 8.9″ and 10.2 inches. No specific CPU specs but it will be an Intel Diamondville chip (which starts at 1.6GHz with 512MB L2 cache).
There’s only 1 slot of memory but can support up to 2GB RAM. Options for SSD or HDD storage, WiFi, Ethernet, analog modem, 3 USB ports, card reader runnign 4-cell or 6-cell batteries, depending on which model.

Looks good. I’m really looking forward to this. It’s said to run on the new Intel Atom chips. I’m guessing its probably around Php 25,000 for the base model… Release date anyone? I’ll probably get one when it comes out. There’s also the MSI Wind, very similar to this one.

I really hope that the use of the UMPC class of computers will grow here in the Philippines. That’s the only way for these things to have lower tagged prices…
