Will the real People’s PC, please stand up!

A year ago, Intel was promoting it’s low-cost People’s PC which costs about Php16,000 (plus VAT so that’s Php17,600 already). The system includes a Celeron 2.2Ghz, 128MB SDRAM, 40GB HDD, 52x CDROM, 15″ monitor and an internal modem.

I believe we can still lower this sucker to something more affordable and can be aptly called the real People’s PC. So the hunt is on and I will need everyone’s help here — let’s get into it and create our cheapest People’s PC. The rig should be at least equivalent and preferably better in specs than the one above but our main goal here is to make it much cheaper. (No refurbished please.) Include in your list the store where you got your prices and the total cost of ownership. Post your specs in your blog and title it “The real People’s PC” and post your link back here.

What I want to achieve here is to let everyone searching for it on Google find out where and what to buy. Let’s get going. :)
