TCL just made a bold move at IFA 2025, becoming the first TV brand to ship Google Gemini AI built right into its hardware. The new QM9K series is now the launchpad for Gemini-powered Google TVs, and it’s packing some seriously futuristic features.

First up, the hardware. The QM9K lineup comes in 65-, 75-, 85-, and 98-inch sizes, rocking TCL’s ZeroBorder CrystGlow WHVA QD-Mini LED panels with 4K at 144Hz. TCL claims up to 30% more brightness and 60% more precise dimming zones than last year’s models. You also get Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HLG, and audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen. Connectivity is solid too, with four HDMI ports (one eARC) and a backlit voice remote.
But the real spotlight is Gemini. Think faster, more natural voice controls, smarter content recommendations, and even the ability to ask hyper-specific queries like “comedies for kids under 10.” Plus, there’s presence sensing via a built-in mmWave sensor, letting the TV wake up into a customizable hub with your calendar, weather, or Nest feeds as soon as you walk in.
Pricing is still under wraps, but expect higher than last year’s QM8K ($1,300 for 65”). Launch is later this month at Best Buy and other retailers.
