AMD has just unveiled their new Zen 4 architecture along with a new AMD socket, AM5. The AM5 socket also known as LGA1718 will be compatible with PCIe Gen5 and the newer DDR5. AMD has also announced that the new socket will still be backwards compatible with the older AM4 coolers. The new Zen 4 architecture and sockets will be released in the second half of 2022.
