#Android 16 early release

Google has announced that the next major Android update, Android 16, will be released earlier than usual in Q2 of 2025. The last non-Q3/Q4 release dates back to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in July 2012. “We’re planning the major release [of Android 16] for Q2 rather than Q3 to better align with the schedule of device launches across our ecosystem,” said Matthew McCullough, Vice President of Product Management at Android in an official blog post. While specific details about Android 16 are still under wraps, early rumors suggest a focus on performance improvements, enhanced privacy features, and innovative user interface tweaks. Google is likely to unveil more information about the next major Android release in the coming months. GameBench has released a free app called GameBench FPS Monitor, allowing Android users to check gaming performance on their devices. Google has released Beta 2 of Android 17. Android 12L is set to release in early 2022, but the new features are now available on the 12L developer preview page.
