The Android app of Discord will now be using React Native for a more streamlined and faster update release on all platforms. Following the company’s announcement regarding Discord updates, it always has to be ‘launch on iOS and desktop’ first before it arrives on Android devices. With this kind of development, Android users doesn’t need to wait for weeks before an update reaches Android devices, updates will be expected to be sent to all platforms (Android, iOS, desktop) simultaneously. Based on their website, Discord has been working ground up using the React Native development framework, that’s why they’ve rolled out the new version of their Android app this past few weeks. Google and Apple have started testing end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging between Android and iPhone users. Once enabled, RCS messages exchanged between Android and iOS devices cannot be read by third parties while in transit.
