Google has announced at Google I/O 2017 that its latest Android version, Android O, is now available in Public Beta, allowing users with supported devices to test the software on their primary phone or tablet. The Public Beta is actually the Android O Developer Preview 2 and is Google's first beta-quality candidate of the OS. (L) Android O: Picture-in-picture, (R) Android O: Notification dots To be a beta tester you need to enroll in the Android O Beta Program. Devices that you opt-in to the program will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to the latest beta version of Android O. Google has released Beta 2 of Android 17. Google's Android 17 Beta 2 brings new features focused on privacy, security and easier app development. Google confirms it will roll out Android 17 Beta 1 update soon, eligible first for  Pixel devices. The announcement came shortly after the release of Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2.1, indicating that Google’s next major Android update is already underway.
