Apple added a new Camera Control button to the iPhone 16 Series. The camera used to be accessed through the lock screen icon in previous iPhone iterations. Even with the new Camera Control feature, this option will still be available to iPhone 16 Series devices. Apple is also allowing third-party apps to make use of the different gestures that the Camera Control button offers. As per Apple, the Camera Control button is due for an update later this year with a two-state shutter. Point your iPhone camera at something and ask Siri about it. Apple dedicated a big chunk of WWDC 2026 to child safety, and the update is the most comprehensive parental control expansion since Screen Time launched. Tim Cook announced that Apple achieved its highest performance for the March quarter because customers bought more iPhones during March than ever before.
