Logitech has just announced that it will be retiring Blue microphones and will soon be merging ASTRO gaming, Blue microphones, and Logitech for Creators all under the Logitech G brand. In hindsight, the ASTRO brand will also continue to live on even also underneath the Logitech G brand as they are also preparing a new product launch in the near future. However, ASTRO gaming still continues to operate its own independent website without any noticeable clues as to it now being Logitech G. Logitech, one of the world's leading personal peripherals provider, is set to purchase ASTRO for $85 million and is expected to close the deal in early August. Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech, said that acquiring ASTRO will be a perfect compliment for Logitech G's, gaming line of Logitech, PC gaming. With the addition of ASTRO, Logitech will also be investing in the console gaming market in order for them to accelerate their long-term growth in the gaming business. Logitech is also expecting in Fiscal Year 2018 that it will add two more points in the top line with the acquisition of ASTRO.
