The Padfone took its inspiration in the Asus Transformer line (we bought each of those two models and liked them a lot) and pushed the design further to incorporate a smartphone as the core device that powers the tablet. Asus' re-entry to the smartphone market (after a failed partnership with Garmin) is highlighted by their flagship Android handset called the Asus Padfone, an ICS smartphone that transforms into a tablet. First unveiled in Computex back in May 2011, the Asus Padfone is a combination of a tablet that's powered by a detachable Android phone.
