According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), ASUS has recalled 10,000 ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero Motherboards as it is a fire and burn hazard. ASUS Z690 Hero motherboards that were affected had serial numbers starting in MA, MB, and MC — a serial number which you can find on a label next to the 24-pin ATX power connector or the box. ASUS is still working on their recall site but it is best to check the serial numbers while the replacement program gets sorted out.
