In a decision consisting of 44 pages, the High Court’s Second Division denied the petitions filed from the following: Next Mobile Incorporated (NOW Telecom) Bayan Telecommunications (BayanTel) Multi-Media Telephony Incorporated (MTI) AZ Communications These companies have been denied applications for 3G radio frequency. Globe is giving Bayantel subscribers a free upgrade to their fiber network. This offer encourages old or existing subscribers to move to the Globe network by giving them faster internet for the same broadband plan they're currently paying with Bayantel. In December 2012, Globe effectively took over the operations of BayanTel although they continue to service the existing customers using the old network. BayanTel has a special package of 3Mbps BayanDSL for only Php899 a month. I think this new service by Bayantel has been around since middle of last year.
