Filipinos can now access a digital version of their TIN ID through the eGovPH app. The update was announced on April 28 on BIR Facebook page, giving users a new way to view their ID using their mobile phones. Users must also already have a digital TIN ID in the BIR system. It builds on the Online Registration and Update System (ORUS), introduced in 2023, which allows users to apply for a TIN online and verify it through a QR code. The BIR said the move aims to make services easier to access and help reduce illegal activities like fixers. With the digital version, users can now keep a copy of their TIN ID on their phone for easier use when needed. BSP implemented Circular 1238 last July 4, 2026, requiring that any gap between intrabank and interbank transfer fees only reflect the cost of routing a transaction through a payment network.
